Chapter 12

Not a soul in sight. Her room was the usual, neat and tidy. Her bed was made, and she definitely was not asleep. Only a set of pyjamas lay strewn on the bed, as if she left in a hurry. I could still smell her scent, which was a mix of the shampoo she used and strawberries. I always wondered why I smelled strawberries in her room.

I looked around the room one more time. This time my eyes found something on her desk. A white piece of paper.

It was a note. Her printing was small and neat, written in light blue ink

When you are reading this, you might have just cut the cake. I couldn’t tell you last night, but while you were sleeping, I was busy preparing this… hope you will enjoy it!

I will be waiting at the end of it at 3:30… come find me! =)

There was a key and a mailbox number at the end of the note.

I nearly laughed out loud. She would never cease to surprise me.
